The new season of Village Super League. or named"Cun Chao". started on Saturday in Rongiang County, southwest China's Guizhou Province.  According to the organizers, sixty-two teams took part in this year's competition.  The preliminaries ran from January 6 to February 24. and the finals were held from March to May.
   In 2023, twenty teams took part in the Village Super League and it became a hit in China and the world for its popularity.  It even caught the attention of England's Premier League.  It sent its men to visit Rongjiang and provided training for local coaches.
   He Yun, a tourist from Chongging, came to Rongjiang last summer for "Cun Chao" and had not been back to her hometown since.  "I didn't understand football but I was interested in the local people's love for it. I love this environment and look forward to the new season," she said.
   Although it was raining. many people like He Yun held umbrellas and attended the new season's opening ceremony.  As players walked into the stadium, cheerleaders dressed in traditional costumes and brought iron pots and pans from their homes to strike in excitement.Local people performed traditional Miao-style dances, and a giant dragon was hung in the middle of the stadium.
   Zhang Letian said that his Bawang Village team was set up last November and mainly made up of college students. The team had played eight friendlies without a single defeat and was regarded as a dark horse for the coming season.
   "New and strong teams will make 'Cun Chao' more competitive and exciting.”said Wu Huayong from the Pingdi Village team,which reached the quarterfinals last season. Wu added that the new season allowed each team to introduce five high-level amateur players from across the
province.
   Lai Hongjing. a member of the organizing committee. said that with more participating teams,the ethnic cultural exhibition would also become ever more colourful.

   乡村超级联赛新赛季，或叫作“村超”，开始于周六在中国西南部贵州省的榕江县。据组织者所述，六十二支球队参加了今年的比赛，预选赛从1月6日到2月24日，决赛在3月至5月间举行。

   何云，一名重庆游客，去年夏天因村超来到榕江，之后就再也没回过老家。“我不懂足球，但我很感兴趣本地人如此喜爱它，我喜爱这里的环境，并期待新赛季，”她说。

   虽然天在下雨，很多人像何云一样的人打着雨伞，参加新赛季的开幕仪式。当球员走进体育场时，拉拉队们穿着传统服装，从家里带来铁锅、铁盆兴奋地敲打；当地人表演传统的苗族舞蹈，体育场中央悬挂着一条巨龙。    

   张乐天说他的扒王村队去年11月成立，主要由大学生组成。该队已经打了八场友谊赛没有一次失败，被看作为即将到来的赛季的一匹黑马。

   “新的、强大的球队将使‘村超’更具竞争力、更令人兴奋。”上赛季进入四分之一决赛、来自平地村队的吴化勇说。吴化勇补充说，新赛季允许每个队从全省介绍五名高水平的业余球员进入球队。
